Climate Change
Here's an acrostic titled How Did Climate Change Affect Ancient Civilizations:
Hurting
Our
World
Did climate change affect those that came before us?
If life goes on, will it affect those after our generation?
Did the world get affected by the ancients?
Climate has wiped out an empire
Learn from their mistakes
Impossibly strong ignorance
Making our Earth crumble beneath us
And we’re doing nothing
This makes me wonder if the ancient world did something
Everyone likely didn’t know back then
Chain reactions
Heat that saved humanity also almost destroyed it
Angle of the sun’s rays
Nearly chaotic
Genetic changes to help the ancients adapt
Extinction did not happen
An Ice age came to be long ago
Frozen glaciers
Freezing weather
Except then the sun moved
Closer it came to our Earth with a pleasing result
The thaw
And we can adapt too
Nowhere near extinction
Can we try to prevent more climate change?
If we try, maybe
Even the ones who came before could adapt
Neandertals are the exception
The Homo-Sapiens drove them to extinction
Heat, collisions, eruptions, and chaos
Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary rock
Still stand today even
Though there are changes to
Our climate and Earth, and the oldest
Rocks still stand here paving the way for the rocks that are
Young, but I’m here thinking; Can we do the same?
