Kiosk Arts Project Content Creation
The audio postcard themes will incorporate a treasure-trove of Lewis stories, characters and song ready to be interpreted through spoken word, archive recordings, music and sound design.
Music from Lewis can instantly communicate elements such as story, character, era, status or occupation and can include songs and instrumental works to evoke time and place with several options for each postcard
Sound Design can enhance all the above, through original soundscapes, treatment of source material, and backdrops to evoke a sense of time, place or atmosphere. This will be created by a mixture of original site-specific ambient recordings, convolved natural spaces (audio mapping), hydrophonic (underwater) and ambisonic (surround-sound) recordings
The audio postcards will exist in the virtual kiosk and like a real postcard they can be accessed locally and remotely to satisfy the same desire. The need to communicate an evocative visit to the family back home and to excite and inform about peoples experience as they visit new and exciting environment.
They remind folks of why they came and why they should return.
